Professional Experience:
Dr. Schindel has practiced Family Medicine in Lakewood since 1999. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Colorado Medical Society, and the Clear Creek Valley Medical Society. He maintains hospital privileges at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center and St. Anthony’s Central Hospital.
Education:
Dr. Schindel received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine from Bob Jones University. He obtained his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency in Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

“My role as your physician is to advise you and equip you with the information and tools necessary to improve your health and/or keep you healthy. I prefer to do this with as little medicine as is necessary.”
Hobbies:
Dr. Schindel enjoys spending most of his free time with his wife and five children. As a second generation Colorado native, he is an avid outdoorsman, and looks forward to opportunities for hiking, hunting, fishing, backpacking, golfing, etc.
Faith:
Dr. Schindel has a strong faith in God and is active in his church.
“I believe in a Divine Creator who alone is the Giver and Sustainer of life. God has given us the responsibility of learning about, and taking care of His creation (which includes our bodies). I believe God endorses the use of health sciences, whether it is nutrition, exercise physiology, surgery, or medication (natural and synthetic) to improve our health. I believe all these modalities can be enhanced by the power of prayer, and I make it my practice to pray for my patients regularly.”
Physician Assistant
Cynthia is a Colorado transplant from Texas where she spent most of her childhood and school years. For undergrad she attended Texas A&M; University in College Station, Texas then transferred to The University of Texas Pan American to finish her B.S. in Physician Assistant Studies. A few years later she went on to receive her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at The University of Nebraska Medical Center. Both degrees were obtained from programs accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Cynthia is nationally certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Cynthia has worked as a certified Physician Assistant in the fields of Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in addition to Family Medicine. Areas of special interest include Diabetes Education, Women's health, Digestive issues, Asthma and Allergies.
Dr. Spencer has been practicing Family Medicine in Colorado for 9 years. After completing his residency with Dr. Schindel at the University of Colorado School of Medicine at Swedish Medical Center, he joined a private practice in Englewood, Colorado. After 8 years in Englewood, he had the opportunity to join Dr. Schindel at Mile High Family Medicine and has been here since the summer of 2008. Dr. Spencer is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is also a member of the Colorado Medical Society and the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Spencer has been a Clinical Instructor for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences and a former board member of the Med South IPA.
Dr. Spencer received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from Pepperdine University in 1992. He then obtained his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 1997 and completed an internship and residency in Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences at Swedish Medical Center in 2000.
Dr. Spencer considers Family Medicine the liberal arts of medicine and enjoys the variety of opportunities that Family Medicine offers. He has particular interest in asthma and allergy as well as sports medicine, hypertension, diabetes, and preventative health.
Dr. Spencer spends most of his free time doing competitive hunting activities with his vizsla, Indy. He also expects to get a new puppy soon to train with Indy. In addition, he has a passion for scuba diving and underwater photography.

Office Manager
Jace grew up in California, and moved here 16 years ago. He is married and has 7 wonderful children whom he loves to spend time with. He is an Certified Radiology Tech with 13 years of experience in the medical field. He is excited to be working at Mile High Family Medicine. Jace thoroughly enjoys working with people and hopes to provide a professional. and caring environment for both patient and employee. He enjoys a variety of activities but mostly he loves spending time with his family, teaching Martial Arts, Camping and is an avid Chicago Bear fan.

Receptionist
Mona was born and raised in Orange County, CA. Previously she attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA as a Psychology major. She has worked in office administration for over 10 years, 5 years specifically in the healthcare and medical field. In 2005, Mona moved to Colorado and enjoys sightseeing and getting to know her new home state. Mona is a mother of two. She enjoys spending time hiking, camping, reading, doing karaoke, volunteer work and being involved at her church.

Receptionist
Dori grew up in Colorado in a small, mountain town. She and her husband have lived in the Denver area for over 40 years. They have fun with three children and seven grandchildren. She has training as a medical transcriptionist and has been a medical receptionist since 2006. She joined the fabulous people of Mile High Family Medicine in October of 2009 and feels very fortunate to be a part of the team. She loves the Broncos and the Rockies, whether they are winning or not.

Receptionist
Judy is a third generation native of Colorado. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and then went on to the Colorado College of Medical and Dental Careers. She then worked in a pediatric office for five years where she enjoyed working with children immensely. Judy has also worked in a dermatology office for 10 years in multiple capacities from Medical Assistant to Billing. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge of years of experience in the medical field which makes her a wonderful addition to our team. Judy has four children and six grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, crocheting, sewing and walking.

Doctor’s Assistant, Certified Phlebotomy Technician
Karen was born in Illinois to a family with 3 brothers. She attributes this aspect of her childhood to making her so laid back and fun. She graduated from Bob Jones University with a B.A. in Education. For 19 years, Karen taught math and science on the junior high and high school level as well as elementary classes. Her medical experience includes working as a dental assistant in high school and college. Karen began working at New Life Family Medicine in the spring of 2005 as a Doctor’s Assistant. During the summer of 2006 she took courses to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician. Karen is married and they have 5 grown children and 4 grandchildren who are the love of her life. Karen enjoys sewing, cooking for her family, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Receptionist
Tracy grew up in Colorado and lived in Northern California for several years. Her work experience to date has involved various aspects of customer service. Tracy brings a bubbly smile and sweet personality that will brighten anyone's day. She enjoys working with people and has made it her personal goal to provide excellent customer service. Tracy is a mother of 2 boys. She enjoyes spending time with her boys, roller skating, cleaning, scrapbooking, designing jewelry, hiking, bowling, spending time with her parents, siblings, and friends.

Doctor’s Assistant
Erin is a Colorado native and loves the outdoors. Growing up and attending schools here in Colorado has provided her with a rich background of studies and life experiences. Having previous certification as a nurse's aide, Erin has worked with a variety of patients, primarily those with Alzheimer's disease. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Speech Communication and Public Relations from Metro State College of Denver and is an active member of Two Rivers Church in Arvada. Recently married in May of 2010, Erin currently enjoys spending time with her husband Ross and dogs Scrappy and Otis.

Doctor's Assistant, Certified Phlebotomy Technician
Rachael grew up in a Christian, military home, so she has travelled quite a bit but grew up mainly in the south and loved every bit of it. She went to college to pursue a teaching degree but after three years knew that was not the field for her. In 2006, she moved with her parents to Colorado to help care for her grandparents. After caring for her grandfather who had Alzheimer's, she knew that her calling was in the medical field. In the spring of 2008, Rachael became a Certified Phlebotomist and joined the team at Mile High Family Medicine in June of 2008. She has been an amazing asset to our team and loves working here. She was recently married and is enjoying every moment of married life.
